2021.10.27 13:38 JediExile Please file unemployment claims.
I know there are a lot of subscribers out there right now that are taking a lot of shit that they don’t deserve. Maybe you’re working up the courage to quit.
I see a lot of good reasons to quit in this sub. People are being asked to work without pay, work more than 7 consecutive days, working fatigued where it may constitute a hazard, etc. Build a case for good cause to leave by documenting your discussions with your managers, what they asked you to do that affected your safety or contributed to a hostile environment. Make sure you make a good faith reconciliatory effort. The goal is to establish that you were a faithful worker who made every attempt to remain with the company, but were forced to leave due to unhealthy/illegal/harassing/medical reasons. And that needs to be backed up with documentation.
When you decide to quit, file for unemployment and submit that documentation. If only you knew how badly it hurts a business to receive an approved unemployment claim against them. Unemployment benefits are there to protect you from situations beyond your control. An abusive manager may be one of those, depending on the circumstances. As a society, we know that when someone has been wronged, they should be made whole. You don’t deserve to be financially distressed on top of what you’ve suffered.
Read the labor law in your state. Build a case for unemployment. This is not intended to be an instructional post, I just want you to stand up for yourself in the most effective way. Find out how this applies to your situation and make the most of it. Document everything. Take care of yourself.

2021.10.27 13:38 csnsc14320 Just finished Eye of the World on my first re-read of the series and I feel the need to apologize
After I read the first book 6 years ago I made a post here asking if the series got better, saying the ending made no sense and wondered if the series would be Lord of the Rings the entire way. I ended up continuing at the urging of everyone here and I ended up loving the series, but I still thought book 1 was weak.
Now having just finished my first re-read of book 1, I have such a different take on it. Everyone's character and story being set up so well knowing where all of our EF5 and friends end up, all the foreshadowing for things that don't pop up until, in some cases, 14 books later. The ending making way more sense knowing what is actually happening and not having only Rand's unreliable narration to lean on.
These qualities probably don't make it a great first book in a series since it is really hard for new readers, but it is certainly a great book on a re-read.

2021.10.27 13:38 cecemcg Plex quits when window box fan is turned off
My computer and the fan are not plugged in to the same power source and are not otherwise connected, however when i turn off my window box fan (just a normal fan, not smart tech), plex quits on my computer - every time, without fail. I am totally stumped and am wondering if anyone here has any ideas how this could happen.
I took a video of it in action: https://youtu.be/9EoE7nvZ2RY

2021.10.27 13:38 TheTrueBucketman What Mech(s) do you consider "Old Relayable"?
What are mechs you find yourself fielding because you know it can get the job done. One you'll get fairly early on and keep because it's just that good.
For me, the number one Old Relayable is the Centurion, she hasn't let me down yet and I'll never complain about picking one up. Just a good all rounder or brawler depending on what I want.
For lights it's Javelins for a light kinda brawler. Spiders and Locusts I like because they fast and have okay damage output.
I never complain about a Shadowhawk.
Heavies would go to Marauder and Catapults, especially with PPCs
The Awesome, Atlas, and Highlander are always welcome too
What's your old relayables?

2021.10.27 13:38 heyyyman14 Should I take up the chance of someone willing to set me up with an interview with an agent yet?
Ive only been in five acting classes so far, did an actors showcase for my city’s film summit, have no reel, and only recently managed to get one audition this Sunday for a student film (which I’m extremely grateful for) but had no luck self submitting on actors access (makes sense because I don’t have any media or enough on my resume).
An acting teacher of mine was willing to introduce me to her agent, but should I take it up when I’m so inexperienced? Or should I wait till I have more on my resume but I’m struggling to get anything so will an agent help when I’m such a beginner?

2021.10.27 13:38 DoctorSusanCalvin overview for diemanvxcvbdz
2021.10.27 13:38 slimecard I saw a post asking about emojis related to autism, so here's my proposal for some neurodivergency symbols!
These are off the top of my head; some might already stand for something, and if they do, it was a coincidence/accident that I added it here. I'm sure not all of these are useful, but please let me know your thoughts!
🧶 - Yarn; representing that there's a lot to unravel in autistic people and autistic culture, the versatility of yarn/thread representing how we aren't just one thing. also, representing connectedness with one another, things, and entanglement in various ways with allistic people and how we communicate with each other. Knots can be untied with patience.
🕶️ - Sunglasses; representing sensory issues or masking
🌂 - Upside down/closed umbrella; rain drips from closed umbrellas, representing recovery from discrimination around being autistic/neurodiverse, or "closeted" autistic
☂️ - Open umbrella; representing neurodivergence and intersectionality
🐝 - Bee; ADHD
🦋 - Butterfly; neurodivergent and proud of it
🦎 - Lizard; facing dehumanization and subverting it; may be considered a "sterotype" of autism/nds but is aware of it and is being themself
🦜 - Parrot; learning to communicate with others, still learning social skills and may trip up a few times but is aware of it and working on it
🌈 - Rainbow; intersectionality (neurodivergence/gendesexuality/race/etc)
🕊️ - Dove with olive branch; open to good faith conversation about topics related to their identity or stances. alternatively; neurotypical/allistic/etc symbol for "I'm with you, and I'm learning from you"
🥥 - Coconut; hard on the outside, sweet on the inside: can be a bit blunt but means well
🎗️ - Awareness ribbon; spreading awareness, proudly stands with others
🎭 - Masks; learning to unmask/be more proud of their identity/coming out of the closet
🌌 - Milky way; representing autistic special interests and hyperfixations
💡 - Lightbulb; representing the different ways autistic people view the world and interpret information from allistic people
♾️ - Infinity; usually represents autism/neurodiversity
🔴 - Red circle; supporting red instead (anti-autism speaks)
👁️🗨️ - Eye in speech bubble; for neurotypicals/non oppressed: I see your struggle, how can I help?
As an example, someone who is autistic and is okay with explaining to uneducated people things about autism/how to be respectful could add a dove 🕊️ to their name to show they're alright with doing so, and that they will generally take you in good faith. Personally I believe the best way to get people "on our side" in any topic is to, if possible (within our energy limits,) educate eachother rather than attack those we think are just idiots.
Also, people tend to think I'm quite blunt or intending to be rude sometimes, but that isn't my intention, it's just sorta how I speak and use my words. In that case I might put a coconut 🥥 in my name/bio/wherever to indicate that I'm not trying to be hostile.
I hope these make sense!
